At this point, it’s a cliche to say that the science-fiction novels of the ’60s anticipated the technological advancements of subsequent decades, including this one.
Compare that prescience with “futuristic,” late-90s graphic designs like the one above. Those designs aimed at a time merely 20 years in the future, and yet they’ve aged much faster. Today, they produce the opposite of the intended effect, appearing hokey and dated.
What I’m trying to express is that I miss Left Eye.
